5 Stars C’mon, you can do it, too
Okay, I have to admit, that I have had this filter for a few months, never removed from the box. In the meantime, I’ve been environmentally unfriendly, by toting home bottled water. I’m not sure why, but for some reason I had an air of intimidation, that I would have difficulty installing this thing, or that it would not function as well as I had hoped. Yeah, I’m a bottled water snob and can probably identify my favorite brands blindfolded by the taste. So, I suspected my water would still taste hard, with its ghastly offensive, chlorine odor, and taste. To avoid disappointment in myself, or it, I denied I needed to tackle this job.

Well, I feel so foolish, now. It took me all of 10 minutes to install it today, without even reading the instructions, so ANYONE can do it—trust me. Then I gave it a taste test and was more than satisfied. I could no longer smell, or taste the chlorine. My water tasted almost as good as the spring water sitting on the counter. So, I have happy, dancing feet, today. I feel I have accomplished something that is worthwhile, not only for myself, but for the environment. I also think my lumbar spine will enjoy a break from toting water home.

I don’t know how well the system will hold up in my very hard water environment. But it is quite inexpensive, so if I have to replace it due to hard water damage, it will not be that problematic.

2 Stars Only three weeks and already problems!
Bought this three weeks ago. Seems to filter the water okay but the valve stem has already stopped working which means you have to remember to push it back in after each use or the filter won’t last every long!

5 Stars best little water filter
I am lucky that GE made the all-metal self-shutoff valve available to Culligan – I could not find the GE filter with that valve any more after the last such GE model had been discontinued. All the new GE filters now have a different design. Having an auto valve switch from filter to tap water makes the entire construct last much longer, because you do not need to turn a faucet or handle off. It is also very convenient – pull the valve out and you get filtered water; then just turn off the water and the valve (spring-loaded) snaps back into its tap water position – great!

3 Stars a few flaws but works
after using the filter for 4 months I thought it warranted a review.I have replaced the filter once and the water tastes great, but little can be said about the mechanical aspect of the filter. It does not leak at all but the knob that was supposed to switch back to tap water once you are done filtering does not work anymore, this can be somewhat annoying though not that big an issue.I don’t know if its because of the sediments collecting in the filter, but on changing the filter, initially the flow is good but as time goes by the flow turns into almost a trickle. In all a good filter with a few mechanical issues.

3 Stars water filtration
Filter mounted easily. Can’t say water tasted any different. Pressure was reduced with filter on. Problem is water won’t shut off instantly but keeps running slowly for about 3 seconds.
