PUR CRF 950Z 2 Stage Water Pitcher Replacement Filter 3 Pack

Keep drinking chemical- and odor-free water with a new PUR water filter. This pack of three replacement filters fits PUR’s Ultimate Water Filtration Dispenser and Pitcher. They reduce cadmium, cryptosporidium, giardia, lead, mercury, asbestos, copper, zinc, and sediment 96 to 99.99 percent; plus lessen chlorine levels and discoloration.

PUR’s filters are made with activated carbon to reduce chlorine and sediment, and include an ion-exchange resin that helps eliminate lead and copper. For best results, filters should be changed every 40 gallons. While PUR filters rid water of many chemicals, coloration, and bad flavors, they do not soften water or remove fluoride. This package of filters measures 7.9 by 7.6 by 2.7 inches, and weighs 2 pounds. –Jessica Reuling

5 Stars great tasting water
These filters are great. My water has a strong chlorine taste to it. Once I run it through these filters it tastes like fresh spring water. The instructions indicate to change the filter every 3 months but I get a couple extra months out of them with the water tasting just fine. Amazon is the best place to buy these at a consistently good price.

4 Stars Filtered Water
The taste of the filtered water, is better than the one stage filter that I was previously using.

5 Stars Pur CRF-950Z Water filters
So far they are lasting a long time but other than taste our water is clear, ( just tastes bad out of the tap ) so they don’t clog quickly, bought this 3-pack but am still on the original after 4-5 weeks and several gallons of water filtering.

1 Star Filtering slows to a crawl after 2 weeks
I was debating between Pur and Brita when I was originally deciding between water purification systems, and I chose Pur. When my first Pur filter slowed to a crawl after about 2 weeks of usage, I shrugged it off as a defect. However, I am now on my second Pur filter, and it takes 10-15 minutes to filter through 20 ounces of water. I wish I was exaggerating, but at this point I am so fed up waiting for water that I am going back to Brita. Brita filters are cheaper too: 6 pack for $26.99 ($4.50/filter), compared to $19.99 for 3 Pur filters ($6.66 each).

5 Stars Love using my pur
Love these things. Used a lot of different filters, but still, I choose these. The taste is better than brita and Feels and taste clean than a lot of filters out there

    3 Stars Installation Caution!
Caution !! When hooking this up, be very careful how much you tighten the inlet side. It cracks easily. My husband use a 6″ pair of pliers to tighten it up, and it cracked it. Now I have to buy another one, because I had already bought extra filters.

    5 Stars Awesome filter
I was lucky enough to already have one of these installed in the house I bought in 2004. Just the thing for a well water system. The drinking water gets further refined by a reverse osmosis filter, but no sediment in any of the water in the house.

5 Stars Good and Inexpensive water filtering
I bought this 6 years ago. It’s a standard design that has been used for maybe 40 years in labs to filter tap water for purity reasons. The new shut off valve in the top is a good idea. I use it under the sink instead of whole-house. The $5 carbon filter has to be changed about once every 6 months before the bad taste of tap water starts to come through again. If you haven’t installed a faucet before, think twice before installing this under the sink. Even with experience it took me all day finding parts, going back to the store to get a flaring tool, cutting pipe, and fixing leaks. Open end wrenches for each nut was much better than my best adjustable wrench which was too thick to get in place.

The water goes in at the top from the side and down the walls of the heavy duty clear plastic (marked PPT on mine). Water pressure forces it through the filter which fits in the middle. The water returns back up in the middle to exit on the opposite side of the cap where it came in. The design allows for a large surface area (which does not reduce water pressure) and about 1 inch of filtration thickness. It’s a heavy duty plastic.

I don’t have it whole-house because because I want the chlorine to remain in the pipes as long as possible, so it’s under the kitchen sink. Reducing the 3/4 fitting down to 1/2″ under the sink was a pain with my copper tubing. It required carefully selected parts including 3/4 to 1/2 reducer (male on both ends), two 1/2″ nuts, 4 sleeves, extra pipe, and a miniature pipe cutter. I could only find the “flared” reducer (a pointy end on the 1/2″ side) so i didn’t need the sleeves, but I had to go get a flaring tool. For whole house use, installation is probably easier, but the $5 carbon filters don’t last as long.

    5 Stars Water filter for R V
Works great! Can’t go wrong with Culligan!

    Thanks

    Tom

    3 Stars No Mounting Bracket
Great filter but comes without a mounting bracket. Nearly impossible to mount this filter without a backet. Either buy a mounting bracket for this filter or buy a different brand filter.

Brita 42645 Aquaview On Tap Filtration System

Brita’s high-tech Aquaview system has a special window that allows you to watch the filter catch sediment and other impurities before dispensing cleaner, safer water for cooking or drinking. While the disparity in taste between filtered and unfiltered tap water has long been observed, the Aquaview system illuminates the difference in color. With the convenience of filtered, spray, and stream options, it fits neatly underneath faucet necks. A tug on a special lever releases unfiltered water for hand- or dish-washing, while a handy electronic filter notification alerts users when it’s time to change the filter.

The system attaches to standard faucet heads, diminishing contaminants including cryptosporidium, giardia, lead, and sediment. Certified by the National Sanitation Foundation International, the filter also eradicates the odor and flavor of chlorine. Filters should be changed every 100 gallons and can be purchased in bulk. The system is easy-to-install and requires no additional hardware. This item weighs two pounds upon shipping. –Jessica Reuling

      4 Stars Good overall
I have had this product for I think about 6 months now and I still haven’t had to change the filter. When I first got it, I did have to buy an attatchment from the hardware store for my faucet. My faucet is the kind that is supposed to look like an old farmhouse faucet, so it was a little small. The attachment was only around $1 so it wasn’t a big deal. The filter does leak every now and then, epecially when I use hot water, but it doesn’t leak enough to bother me. It still does what it needs to do and it saves me a ton of money on bottled water.

4 Stars Alternative to bottled and huge bottles of water?
We shall see. We’ve had this tap filter for about a month and so far very good. It was moronically easy to install on a fairly unusual kitchen tap and blends in nicely. Seems to be a fairly compact unit but I have nothing to compare to. Water coming through the filter compares nicely with the huge bottles of water we still get but will probably phase out and cancel. Thus far, I would recommend this unit.

      5 Stars Works Great
I live in a very old building with cast iron pipes. The sediment and taste of the water was just awful, not to mention what it was doing to my coffeemaker and humidifier. This system works great at removing sediment and off tastes to my water.

4 Stars Nicely designed water filter
I have purchased two of these filters. I really like the design. It’s great that if fits under the faucet head instead of sticking up. I like the three types of water sprays. It filters nicely.

The only drawbacks are that for whatever reason we’ve had some trouble getting a nice seal. Originally it did seal well to the faucet and I think the problem is mostly likely with my own faucet and not the Brita filter.

One thing that was nice [...]. [...]

4 Stars Good filter for kitchen sink tap
This is a good water filter for the kitchen sink tap. The knob provides 3 settings, Brita filtered water, shower, or plain. I like the shower setting for washing dishes etc. The horizontal design provides a low hieght filter so does not obstruct the sink.

Whirlpool 4396710P PUR Side by Side Refrigerator Push Button Cyst Reducing Water Filter 2 Pack

        User Ratings and Reviews

        5 Stars Water filter
The only problem with my water filter was the shipping. It took awhile for me to receive them but that is on amazon, not the actually filter. Great deal but if you need them right away then I’d pay for the faster shipping!

        5 Stars pure ease
I have had a lot of visitors and everyone wants to know why our water taste so good. These filters make bottle water a thing of the past.

        1 Star Dissapointed with Delivery
I had ordered this item on 9/21 and it was delivered 10/10. This is the first time I’ve ever faced this issue – I have been a loyal Amazon customer for years. Delivery lead time was very dissapointing especially since it was shipped out on 9/24. Not sure why it took so long.

When the product arrived, the filter box was open and there wasn’t any documentation in there – the box said refer instructions in the instruction booklet inside and there wasn’t one. the filters also did not seem new – i am not sure if these come wrapped individually.

Other than that, I just installed this filter and the water flow is not continuous, I am hoping that with increased usage, the flow will become better. if not, i am returning these filters.

5 Stars Fits great in my Kenmore
The Whirlpool 4396710P 2-Pack filters arrived as expected and are a perfect fit in my Kenmore side-by-side refrigerator.

5 Stars Fast, Cheap and Easy
I’ve shopped these seveal times on-line and at Sears… The fisrt time I bought the filter at Sears, it cost $65! Thank you Amazon! You’re prices are great, and I received it in like two days with regular mail.

          5 Stars Brita Filters
Very pleased with the Brita water filters. The price is great and I really like the fact that I can get them by 6 in a pack.

          1 Star too late
I orderd this item on sept. 7th, and finally got it on Oct.1th. What a speed!

Do not trust this shop anymore.

          4 Stars It’s a water filter
Well, it’s a Brita water filter. Not much to say really. Filters the water well. Makes it taste much better than the faucet water in my dorm on campus. I think the water out here is well water so this filter was much needed. Charcoal particles still seem to seep through after being used many times but no biggie. Great filter!

3 Stars arrived on time, usable, but leaks small black particles
I bought it in March 2009, it arrived on time, good to use– but all the four replacement filters that I used leak small black particles into the base of pitcher.

I was not overtly concerned about the black particles– guess it’s just carbon from the filter. But my previous filters (bought from Target) didn’t have this long-lasting leak– they cleared out after three water replacements.

Is it the same quality bought this purchase? I have no other test to verify, but it would be nicer if the small black particle leakings would be improved.

          Thanks

5 Stars Fast Shipping. Good Price compared to retail stores
Item shipped fast and reached on time. Genuine product & quality. Best price compared to same replacement filter packs found at local retail stores. Beats walmart and target prices.
